Are you dreading new financial literacy standards? Are you trying to find a fun way to teach economics to your students? These Spend, Save, Share Bank Craftivities are for you!
Simply print on cardstock, cut (or have students cut as an activity) and fold these banks into an inexpensive tool to use in the classroom!
I have included banks reflecting “spend”, “save”, “share”, and “give” since some teachers use “share” and others use “give”. I created one labeled set with the pig as a piggy bank type, one labeled set with graphic clues for the purpose of each bank, and a blank template for you to design it the way you wish and with the wording your prefer.
Additionally, you will find the instructions for assembly, vocabulary cards for the terms used, as well as, some guiding questions.
Finally, I included links to financial literacy lessons and my favorite, Classroom Economy resources. The classroom economy resources are FANTASTIC for creating and setting up a classroom economy. There was no need to re-invent the wheel for this because it is already out there. I just wanted the Spend, Save, Share banks for my students and couldn’t afford the store bought ones nor could I accumulate enough Pringles or Crystal Light containers for each student to have 3.
In my class, we used coins. Folded “dollars” also fit inside.
