Pass out words one at a time, word side up. Ask each student to read the word as you are passing them out, if the student reads the word correctly, he can turn it over and see how much he has made. The winner is the student with the most money at the end of the game.
My reading intervention groups love this game. They enjoy counting their money at the end of the game, so not only do they practice reading sight words, they also have a chance to use their math skills.
