This is a fun flash card game that can be used in a variety of ways depending on what your needs are!
Basically, when I was teaching ELL students, I was having a tough time getting some of them to feel comfortable speaking in front of others. This game worked like a charm!
Soon after laminating and cutting this game out, I taught the kids how to play it. The kids loved it and regularly would ask if they could take it out when they finished another assignments early.
Basically, the kids will sit on the floor together and take turns holding the picture card up for each other. When a child sees the picture on the card, they will tell (their partner holding the card up for them) what they see and say 3 things about it. Their partner will help them to decide if their 3 things make sense.
For example: the picture is a toothbrush
The kids can say...brush, dentist, teeth, clean, mouth, etc.
They cannot say something like...shoe!
I hope your kids love this as mine always do!
Happy Teaching! -Mrs. Walshie ;)
