This activity works well for phonics review and practice in literacy centers or as an assessment of students’ ability to name letters and sounds. The worksheets follow the order of the McGraw Hill Wonders Reading curriculum so that you can use it as a unit review throughout the year, or as a complete summative review/assessment of all letter sounds.
Students will be engaged as they practice their letter sounds in several different ways: voice, stamping with ink, and writing with pencil or marker. They’ll work on letter identification, sound production, handwriting, and fine motor skills in this one activity!
Also included is a version of the activity with an added “Draw it” component in which
students draw a picture of something that begins with the letter sound. This adds a fun creativity component and an extra challenge of producing words that begin with the letter sounds they are learning!
