Say Something Reading Strategy

Say Something Reading Strategy
Product Description
While reading a difficult fiction text, assign students to groups of three or four and stop reading at various points in the story for discussions over the reading. When they have a chance to "Say Something" about the text, they will use the prompts provided to make a statement -- the goal is to try all four categories at least once at the stopping points. Students will be able to comment on usual/interesting topics, make predictions about what will happen next, ask a question about something they do not understand or want to know more about, and connect something in the text to their own life and experiences. The prompts do not have to guide everyone, but can be a useful tool for students who need a sentence starter.
