Use these bookmarks to helps students deepen their comprehension through interacting with the text. These bookmarks encourage students to make predictions, asks questions, clarify misconceptions, make comments, and make connections as they read. The back of the bookmarks have stem starters to help students utilize the strategy. This strategy can be used effectively with students working in pairs or independently. Print the bookmarks out on cardstock and give to each student. In my classroom, instead of making bookmarks, I printed both sides, laminated them and taped them to each desk in my room. The strategy was also helpful in our Social Studies classrooms.
