This resource is an activity to help your students better understand the importance of determining the meaning of unfamiliar words using context clues. There are 52 different nonsense words and what they mean. For example, a wunnet is a unicorn and slindome is snow. Students must brainstorm clue words and then write a paragraph using the nonsense word along with the context clues. The resource comes with a differentiated option where the brainstorm box has already been filled with clues. There are also pages for publishing final paragraphs, student examples, instructions, and a model to use in your lesson.
