Research has shown the importance of character education to success in life. This lesson about LOSS is designed to teach this concept in a fun and entertaining way that they will be able to remember. It includes 2 videos AND a parent letter and coloring page
Concepts covered include:
• Loss is a part of living
• Various ways to deal with loss and missing others
• Part of life is change
• People who are support in times of loss or grief
• Every goodbye brings a hello
The two videos are each of a book being read aloud that related to the concept of saying goodbye or living with loss or missing someone. I have found that videos are very effective in helping students to create an emotional link to the abstract concepts that character education involves. Coupled with discussions in which you can assist students to make the connection, it is an easy and effective way to teach these difficult concepts and assist students to internalize them into their own personalities.
This presentation includes 12 slides which have transitions and animations to help to hold your students' interest plus a master slide. I have embedded background music that I have found helpful to hold student interest, also. It is easily personalized and customized and includes a master slide that you can copy and paste into the location where additional information is desired.
You may want to rearrange the slides to make this presentation fit your needs. I have them arranged the way that makes sense for my students, but that may not be the best way for you.
Web sites are NOT embedded, but are links. I do not own them or control them, so if there is a problem with a broken link or something else, please let me know so that I can repair, replace, or fix the presentation for you. Anytime you have technology incorporated, you risk having related issues.
I appreciate communication so that I can provide the best possible service for you. In the event that a link does not work, please contact me via the “TpT QUESTIONS” page, and I will do my best to remedy the situation for you!!
**NOTE*** links do not work in editing mode in Powerpoint. They are only active in presentation mode. Please be aware of this.
