In this President George Washington Farewell Address resource, students analyze the advice given by President George Washington as he delivered the first farewell address in the history of the United States. Students interpret four selections to understand the major pieces of advice Washington gave the young nation. Students learn Washington's thoughts on political parties (such as the Federalists), the role the United States should play in international affairs, the role that religion should play, and more!
This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom. Just follow the included instructions for how to access the Google version, then share the resource through Google or assign via Google Classroom. This will allow students to type directly into the document!
