I created this resource to support students with intensive needs in their middle school, general education, health class. This resource supports a Health lesson about Refusal skills; saying no to drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, and other unhealthy activities. This resource is based on material from the health general education curriculum for Middle School students. The material has been modified for students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and other needs that require visual support and modification.
This resource includes:
-Social story about healthy and unhealthy activities with a refusal
-The social story and activities deal with saying no to beer/alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs when you are not sick, and general peer pressure.
-Printable picture sort of activities that you would say yes or no to. This relates healthy vs. unhealthy activities to refusals.
-Four printable refusal scenario cards (two to one page) for discussion or role playing
-Includes picture communication symbols created on Boardmaker Online
I hope this resource supports the needs of your students understanding this important skill! I look forward to your feedback. Remember you can earn credit on TpT by leaving me your feedback. It will also help me improve my resources and my ability as a teacher. I am humbled by the opportunity to share this resource with you and your students.
