This is a unique, interactive workbook for students to scaffold and guide their thinking when closely reading a piece of complex text. The interactive workbook offers nine lenses by which students will meta-cognitively use to analyze the text and serve as notes for their written critical analysis. Teachers may teach each lens using the gradual release of responsibility. Students can take notes in the interactive workbook before, during and after academic dialogue with a small group of students or in a whole class setting. It is a great way to check for understanding while the students are going through the process of close reading.
