Here is an editing strategy using scaffolding designed to help students bridge the gap from complete dependence on the teacher, to one of complete independence with no safety net. It is especially helpful for SLD students.
The best thing about this three-step strategy is that it allows you to individualize instruction! Some of your students may learn the editing marks and the rules for editing right away and move to the next step.
Other students may struggle. Using this strategy, you can move each student along as they are ready– modifying their lesson and individualizing instruction.
I hope you will find this idea for editing useful. I would appreciate feedback...Let me know if it works for you.
