Product Description
A PBL activity designed to give students a real world application for scale drawings.

Students can work in partners or individually. First, they answer questions about a cafe drawn to scale on a grid. Then, they redesign the space, choosing from given furniture options. They draw their new design on blank paper to scale and include the new furniture they have chosen. Students can choose a scale of 1/4“ = 1’0” or 1/8” = 1’0”. (1/4” scale will require large paper. 1/8” scale will fit on 8.5 x 11 paper.)

Answers are included for the questions about the floor plan. The final scale drawings will vary based on chosen furniture and layouts, so answer key is not included for that portion.

A simple rubric is included as well.
