After reading a Fall book or poem, your students can make their own scarecrow! I usually read The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything and then have the students make their own scarecrow. I also have taught them a scarecrow poem that I included as another option. You could use a picture of the student for the face instead of the one I provided as well. I used scraps for the patches on the pants and I also did the same with the straw hair.
