This resource helps students master counting forward from a given number instead of beginning from 1, and counting to 50. These are building blocks for counting to 100 in kindergarten or counting to 120 in first grade. Differentiation is easy with the two sets of clip cards / task cards, the easier cards are marked with a pumpkin icon and the more difficult cards are marked with a leaf .
The first set uses the numbers 1 – 27, and the second set uses the numbers 24 - 50. The clip cards allow students to develop fine motor control while practicing counting. The student decides which number comes between the two given numbers and places a clothespin on his answer. To make the cards self checking, place a small sticker or draw a smiley face behind the correct answer Another way to use the cards is to laminate them and have students circle their answer choices.
Color and black & white versions are included in of all materials. Materials include clip cards, count to 50 charts, 2 response sheets, 2 answer keys, a game board, zap cards, directions for using the game board and the zap cards, 3 spinners for use with the game board, storage labels and our 20 Ways to Engage Students by Using Task Cards.
