Pg. 3 Scarecrow Adjectives! – think of adjectives that describe the scarecrow. Use this as a before writing activity to help with word choice.
Pg. 4-7 Scarecrow Cause and Effect! – copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines – read the causes – read the effects in the boxes – cut out the boxes and match them to the correct causes – glue them under the matching flap
Pg. 8-11 Opinion or Fact? – copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted line – read the sentences – decide if they are fact or opinions – glue them under the correct flaps

Pg. 41-44 Paper Bag Scarecrow – just for fun – stuff your own scarecrow – stuff bags with newspaper – gather midway up and wrap with masking tape – cut the top part of the bag in strips- add hair, wiggle eyes, nose, eyes, cheeks, mouth and details with a marker, cut the dotted line x on the top of the hat, slip down over top of the bag, add the flower – see picture – hang from ceiling or sit on a shelf
