Sung to the familiar tune of Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, this adorable new song addresses Kodaly concepts of steady beat, rhythms ta (quarter note) and sh (quarter rest), along with the preparation/introduction of the tie (which can be expanded into ta-a/half note). It also covers melodic tone set of D-R-M-S-L. Students will be able to reveal/identify/practice Solfege tones through the idea of Melody Street using houses on a provided slide within the PPT presentation that represent the tones that are used throughout the song. Students will also be expected to read the song notation from the staff using both a melodic/rhythmic picture icon as well as real music notation. Simple movement activities are included with this lesson to help get your students moving and grooving to this fun song. This will prove to be a favorite among your students.
