My kindergarten kids and I love learning about Scarecrows! We read about Scarecrows. We write facts about Scarecrows. We create Tree Maps, Brace Maps, and Circle Maps about Scarecrows. We sing songs about Scarecrows and do a play about Scarecrows. Last year, we even painted our faces to look like Scarecrows!

The excitement we generate concerning Scarecrows seems to be endless! To match this enthusiasm, I created a very large Scarecrow to go on a bulletin board or to take home and share with mom and dad.

The kids adore creating their very own Scarecrows and many parents save them for years to come. In November,as you drive around the neighborhood, it isn’t surprising to notice a few scarecrows from years gone by!

There are 22 pages with directions, poems, and enlarged text. I hope your kids will enjoy making this SCARECROW as much as mine do!

Note: My kindergarten kids love making this project, but it is challenging enough for first grade students too!

Thank you for stopping by Kindergarten with Susie. Creating materials for young children is a passion of mine, and I welcome any comments that you may wish to share with me.
