“Scary, Scary Halloween” was written by Eve Bunting and illustrated by Jan Brett. It is my favorite Halloween tale. In this story, Halloween seems like it is full of frightening sounds and creatures. Then, the reader realizes that the story is being told by a mother cat and her kittens that are really only watching children trick or treating at their home.
