Scary Story Writing 101 is an entertaining and effective way to review narrative story elements.

Students use photos - embedded with single-line prompts - to write creepy stories they’ll want to share. This is, without question, one of my students’ favorite narrative units of all time.

…design a “something’s not right” event or character, and

…surprise readers with a heart-stopping“Uh-Oh” Moment.
