This is a great activity for students to investigate patterns of association between two quantities.
Print and use these as a Card Sort where students sort the cards into 3 piles (positive association, negative association, or no association) and give their reasoning why each card goes into the particular pile.
Or as an alternative, you can use these as task cards. A recording sheet is provided for you.
There are also blank cards for students to write their own cards. Students will love sharing with their classmates!
NOTE: The terms association and correlation are used interchangeably.
