This step-by-step project provides students 4 interesting research topics to choose from. This fun project includes a lot of scatterplot skills. From the research topic, the students will extract the 2 variables and decide which is the dependent and which is the independent, make graph scales from the provided data including labels and all, plot the data, decide the correlation and a conclusion, and write an opinion based on their decision.
My students loved being able to choose between these different topics which sparked good conversation among them. This project allows students to see how much stronger opinions can be when they are backed up by numerical data. Have fun!
