This Powerpoint starts with a warm-up of finding a linear equation from two points. Students are then presented with a scenario relating two quantities and asked to describe any relationships. Building on this, students are introduced to scatterplots as a way to represent a data set. This is followed by a discussion of the types of correlation that may be described. Finally, students are introduced to the best-fit or trendline that can be created to describe the correlation algebraically.
