Give your students a chance to search the province (literally) by searching for Canadian landmarks, cities, symbols and anything else made in Canada. This is a research activity disguised as a challenge that uses maps, atlases and globes.

This flexible product includes:
- two differently formatted paper options of the scavenger hunt.
- a digital version that uses Google Slides so this product can be used online or with distance learning.
- suggested answers.
- instructions on how to run the activity with a variety of options.
- instructions on how to assemble the booklet.
This activity only includes the student materials. You will need to provide:
- atlases
- globes
- textbooks
- books
- pamphlets
- maps
- and when you've used all of those, devices to go online and research the last blank spaces.
Students can practice using:
- indexes
- lists
- table of contents
- text features
- glossaries
- map reading skills to locate, interpret and record information about Canada.
It has been classroom tested with students in grade four and five and many students loved the challenge which took students everywhere from two hours (the ones that gave up) to all their spare time for an entire school year (the ones that mastered it).
It can be used as a whole class activity or an extension project for those students who need an extra challenge.
This activity was designed for Canadian students, but it can be used in any country to learn more about the Great White North.
