Plant Worksheet (duplicate both sides), 23 Plant Fact Cards, Answer Key
Print the fact cards on cardstock and cut them apart. Make copies of the plant worksheet (front and back). You will need one worksheet per student.
Hide the fact cards around the classroom where your students will be able to find them. You may want to stick some out of books, tape them to chairs, windows, desks, etc. You could place them on computer keyboards, on counters, on the chalkboard ledge, etc. It is more fun when students have to search to find each one.
Students will locate each task card. They will use each task card to answer a question on their worksheets. They will continue to do this until all 23 cards have been found and questions have been answered.
You may want to tell students not to talk, so they will not be likely to share answers with one another.
You may want to have students work independently or with partners.
Some will finish early. It is a good idea to decide what you want them to do ahead of time. You could have them help their peers locate task cards. Another suggestion is to have plant books available for students to read or do research.
