This activity is a fun scavenger hunt based on an infographic published by a magazine in 2016. The infographic presents a picture of the traditions, values, celebrations, culture, and routines of Colombian families. By using the link provided, students will complete the scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt includes 33 questions for students and an answer key for the teacher.
The inforgraphic provides a snap shot at Colombian families and their social class system: in the Colombian society, there are 6 social classes- the first social classes is the poorest, and the sixth social class is the richest.
I suggest teachers using this resource to print the material and post the infographics in the classroom, or copy the article and create a word document that students can access. This would replace the actual visiting of the web site: Two of the infographics include a survey about reasons for conflicts in families and mentions the word alcohol and the word sex. For this reason, I suggest you either print the infographics blocking these 2 words, or create the word document eliminating the two words form the survey.
