These labels can be used during a unit on the 5 Senses or year-round in a Science Center. They can be attached to bottles used for smelling with holes poked in or laminated, hole punched, and tied to sachets for smelling. I used these during an All About Me unit in pre-k while discussing the 5 Senses. I made homemade sachets by wrapping a large cotton ball in some tulle, tying it closed with yarn, and then tying on the laminated label. I used 2 drops of essential oil on each for the scents. We did this as a circle time activity and passed around each sachet, so each child got an opportunity to smell each one and decide what it smelled like. Responses were recorded for assessment. They were then added to the Science Center for children to explore on their own.
