I have created a mini-lesson to teach students about schema and how it can help them during reading. The theory of schemata can be difficult to grasp, but I have created a lesson explaining how it works and also allows the students to participate by giving a possible schema to some common objects.
Included in the 11 slides are two pages to copy for students. One may be completed together as a class or each individual student. The second is for use during independent reading with fill-in areas to complete.
