This is a Smart Notebook file with two battleship boards (one to place your own ships and one to mark what you've guessed for your partner's board). It is in German, but could be edited for other languages. Names for the ships (and number of how many to use), as well as battleship phrases are also included.
This can work if students have their own laptops/computers, or if you have a mobile lab. Otherwise, you could use this as a model that students copy to make their own board.
How to use: This can be used with many different topics, and gets students speaking (and sneaks in grammar!). For example, this is how I use it when teaching colors and clothing, and adjective endings before nouns. Together, we come up with clothing to write in the top boxes. Then, we come up with colors to write along the side boxes. Students then place their ships and begin to ask each other "Do you have a _(color)_ _(clothing)_?" For example, "Hast du einen roten Pulli?" Their partner then responds with one of the phrases included on the board. You can make it simpler by having them ask "Is the _(clothing)_ _(color)_?" The students LOVE this game!
