Reviewing the elements of a short story's plot is a breeze with this versatile student-created card game. It pairs nicely with ANY piece of short fiction from ANY issue of Scholastic SCOPE magazine.
Once students have read the text, they create their own set of sixteen matching cards as a review of the various plot parts: characters, conflict, setting, exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
This activity is adaptable for visual/artistically inclined learners as well as more language-based learners. The best part is, all students can play the card game once the activity is completed!
