Welcome to the School Bus Character Report. School Buses are a part of every school day. This report takes the fun of buses and makes for a great project. Students draw and label their favorite reading characters on the bus. It makes a report that is great for displays and having discussions on favorite books and characters.
This worksheet will work well with any age of students, but especially with students from kindergarten through second grade. Students will choose three or four favorite book characters and draw them on a school bus graphic. Three characters can be drawn in the windows. The bus door window can be another character OR a drawing of the student. They also write the names of the book characters. You can also make this 3D by cutting out the side bus and front bus clip art. Then tape them to a box to make a stand up bus. The driver of the bus could be the student or a teacher/librarian. Both ways work great for displays or bulletin boards.
Images for this worksheet are NOT in the public domain. They came from the website https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/ Short-U-Vowel-Clip-Art-694803 and https://www.mycutegraphics.com/graphics/school/bus/school-bus-front-black-white.html
This report works well with the School Bus Reading Interests Report that is also available in my store. It is pretty much the same, but the statement on the bottom says reading interests instead of book characters. This is for those students who read more nonfiction or don’t have specific book characters to draw. Take a look!
