Listening: This activity includes description cards which may be displayed in a pocket chart. Use these cards as you discuss listening skills with a whole class or small group. Five booklets are included which focus on each area of whole body listening. Key words may be traced and students may color the pictures. (K-1)
iShow Good Character: This activity comes with one color iPad poster and one black and white for students to color if you choose. In an ongoing plan, students may color each app as they learn about each new trait. Each app has an activity sheet where students define the character trait and describe how they will show it. They may also color the pictures. (2-3)
Making Choices Cube Game This game can be used in small group sessions or with small groups in a classroom setting. Students choose a picture card from the stack and roll the cube. They will either tell what they believe is happening in the picture, tell a better choice or tell what the consequence may be for making the choice.. (K-2)
My Organization Plan Booklet: This booklet is great to use with a small group or during a whole class lesson. Students will take the time to think about ways to improve their organization by keeping their backpacks and desks clean and by planning out their morning and after school routines. Accountability charts are included for students to write their plans and check them off as they accomplish them. (2-5)
Roll and Respond: These cards can be used to facilitate discussions about organization, being new to the school, making choices and following rules. (2-5)
Pumpkin Pals BINGO: Students will learn different ways to make and keep friends with this Bingo game. This game is for small groups and comes with 8 individual Bingo cards and 30 calling cards. (1-5)
Raking in Respect: This activity includes 10 posters that display and tell ways to show respect. Also included is a flip-a-flap activity for students to complete after talking about the posters. After following the included directions to make the activity, student complete each of the sentence starters behind each flap. On the inside, they will illustrate and write about how they show respect. (2-4)
Something to Crow About: When a statement or action is “Something to Crow About,” it’s a good thing. Unfortunately, some statements and actions made by others are hurtful and only said to spread gossip and rumors. Decide which crows are spreading gossip or rumors and which ones have something to crow about. Sort the cards on the sorting mat putting the mean crows closest to the scarecrow. (3-5)
Say “BOO” to Drugs: Use these posters, coloring sheets, bookmarks (color and b/w) and roll and respond card to enhance your celebration of Red Ribbon Week. Older students can discuss drug awareness with Roll and Respond while younger grades can use coloring sheets after a class discussion. (K-5)
Tattling Turkeys: Students will practice distinguishing between tattling and reporting by matching the turkey feathers with the correct turkeys. Both color and black/white versions are included. (2-4)
Veteran’s Day Mobile: Use this mobile to celebrate Veteran’s Day or to help a student honor a special veteran in their lives during times of deployment. Different branches of military and male/female options are included for the top section of the mobile. (2-5)
A-Maize-ing Social Skills: Use these cards to discuss the Do’s and Don’ts of social skills. Use the sorting mat with small groups and individuals or display to a whole class using a document camera. You can also cut the Do’s and Don’ts signs and place them on a bowl or bags for sorting. (1-5)
Falling Into Feelings: Included are 12 popsicle stick puppets and a feelings cut-n-paste booklet. Use the popsicle stick puppets during a discussion about feelings or for a game of charades for the rest of the group to guess the feeling. You can also use them during individual sessions for students to identify how they are feeling. (K-1)
I have included grade levels for each activity, but you can decide how to use any of my products according to the specific abilities of your students.
