This School Landscaping Plan activity asks students to become a landscaper and help make new flower beds for the school! Students are tasked with finding the area and perimeter for four different flower beds. They must then create a new flower bed that has the same area, but a different perimeter than the original flower bed. Grid paper is included for students to use when creating their new flower beds.
Be sure to download the preview to see a sample of the flower beds and questions in the report.
This activity also includes a Landscaper's Report for students to record their new designs and then answer three higher order thinking questions. I suggest printing this as a packet for students with the Landscaper's Report cover page first, then the original school flower bed designs followed by their new designs and then the questions last. This allows for students to have everything in one place no matter how you choose to use this activity in your room.
If you'd like this activity personalized with your school or class name, just purchase and then send me a message letting me know what you'd like it to say. I'll get it customized and sent to you within 24 hours, often times less.
