These sub plans for elementary librarians are very low prep (most do not require any prep work). There are activities for students in kindergarten through 5th grade so all your classes will be covered. Whenever you need to take a day off work, these activities will save you time and energy. And if it's an unexpected absence, a substitute can easily get everything ready.
What is included:
Time fillers and brain breaks
These are quick ideas or discussion prompts that a substitute can pull out when there is extra time or when students need a brain break or quick movement activity. There are 13 pages total. I have found that these are very useful when there are a few extra minutes of class time left or while waiting for a teacher to pick-up their class. There are cards for all grades K-5 with suggested grade levels on the cards.
Storytime Activities: These are for students in Kindergarten – 2nd grade. All of these activities have a pet theme. There is a list of suggested books to read to students about pets plus worksheets and graphic organizers that can be used afterwards.
Noprep worksheets and printables for all grades. Includes ABC order, fact and opinion, graphic organizers, main idea and personification.
2 activity grids: one for grades 2/3 and one for gradees 4/5
There are 9 activities on each grid. Students will choose activities to complete. These could easily be used for 2 or 3 class periods.
Please look at the preview before purchasing!
The preview does not show every page in the file but it will give you a very good idea of what is included.
These lessons and activities are included in my Library Substitute Binder & Lesson Plans. Do not
purchase this product if you have already bought the substitute binder.
************ In my substitute binder, I do include 2 task card sets. I did not include those task cards in this product because I wanted to keep it very low prep (and task cards take some prep work to get ready). If you are interested in these task card sets, you can find them here:
• Main Idea Task Cards
• Cause and Effect Task Cards
