Here's how I use this file in my classroom!

Question & Answer Cards: This format is the easiest to prep. Just display the question card and the two answer choices. Let your kiddos put their name card under their choice.

Individual Word Cards: This format takes a little longer to prep, but I definitely like it better! To use this one, place each word card in your pocket chart to form the question and put the answer choices under it. Your kiddos can put their names into the pocket chart right underneath their answer choice! Plus, you can use it to talk about concepts of print too! The individual word cards give a great visual for how many words are in a sentence and for long/short words!

Printable Sheets: These sheets are great to use as a follow-up in centers after you’ve done the question of the day as a class! I like to give my kiddos clipboards with a printable sheet. They can walk around during centers and interview their friends. Each child can write his name on the sheet under his answer, or the interviewer can write each name as the child answers. Either way, it adds in some fun and engaging writing practice!

▶️ Here’s an extra hint for you! Your question of the day can also take your attendance! Display your kiddos’ name cards in a visible place. As part of your arrival routine, have them get their name card and use it to answer the question of the day. Once arrival is over, you can see at a glance who is not at school!
