Welcome back to school!
Get your year off to a smooth start with these engaging school rule activities for your PK-1 kids.
Also in this unit are activities to go with the popular book David Goes to School by David Shannon.
*A simple “Rules for School” book. (Example rules: “Be Kind”, “Share”, “Raise your hand”. Also included are class discussion questions regarding why we have rules, and what makes a good friend.
*Class Sorting Activity—Students will work whole group to sort Happy Choices and Sad Choices (20 color sorting pictures and chart headings). This is also great for a center activity in a pocket chart.
*Independent Sorting Activity—Students will sort 8 black and white pictures on their recording sheet.
*David Goes to School Craftivity—Students will color a David cutout and glue one of three writing prompt choices: “At school I will ____”, “Draw a school rule”, or “School Rules are Important’
*David Goes to School Class Chart—Students will brainstorm words for chart to tell what David should do at school. Includes color David cut out and chart headings.
