We all know that it's important to discuss school rules with your students during the first few days of heading back to school. This school rules poster activity organizer is a fun sheet to use for the first day of school or as a first week of school activity. It is an 8.5 x 11 page, (landscape style) and it can accompany any lesson or discussion about school rules. It would be a fun activity to use in conjunction with your other first week activities.
You can have your students work in small groups to devise rules they think are important or you can present rules and have students write in the rules you have. If students work in small groups, they will love sharing their ideas with the class.
The different areas of the school presented on the organizer are: classroom, lunchroom, hallway, bathroom, and recess. There may be others you want to discuss, but those are the only ones presented on this class rules organizer. If you want to discuss other places where rules are necessary, simply have them flip it over and they can create their own organizer.
Students also answer the question: What are rules, and why is it important to have them?
The black/white images are fun to color once the organizer has been completed. This class rules activity provides a fun format for this very important topic.
