It is important to explicitly teach the school and classroom rules the first month of school. I even review the rules when we get back from holiday break to remind the students the rules, expectations, and consequences for their behavior. Use these 20 task cards to give the students an opportunity to reflect on each scenario on how they would follow your classroom rules.
I included two different types of recording sheets: one for primary and one for elementary grades.
In both response sheets the students pick a task card, read the scenario, and respond with the appropriate school rule (or way to respond).
1. What do you do if you need to sharpen your pencil?
2. Explain how to walk in the hall nicely.
3. Where do you put your backpack when you get to school?
I included a PPT that you can edit and write your own task card scenarios in the text box. You just duplicate the slide to create as many as you want.
