Students play battleship to practice the vocabulary in the target language concerning school supplies.
There are two pre-made boards available for this game that practice eight different school supplies (eraser, book, paper, folder, glue, crayon, scissors, and pencil). I also included a blank copy of the board that students can fill in using any vocabulary (or pictures of the vocabulary words) that you are covering!
If you'd like, I also have visual and written prompts to encourage the students to ask questions and respond in the target language (e.g. Yo necessito el lápiz; ¿está en ___? OR ¿Tienes el lápiz en ___?). My students use these to guide them in using the language and to keep track of what they are trying to find on their partner's board. :)
In my own classroom, I have printed and laminated both blank boards and the pre-made boards. I have students start with the pre-made boards as they learn how to play and how to incorporate the target language. As they advance and throughout the unit, I allow them to create their own game using any of the vocabulary on the blank boards.
The blank boards also work great for early finishers!
I hope you enjoy this product; my students do! :)
