This is one of my Practical Name Activity sets that helps kids learn about school tool rules while practicing arranging the letters of their names and writing their names. Students stamp their name, then sign the "contract" to show they have learned the rule.
Each tool has a poster that goes along with it as well as boy and girl name activities with the rule to read (these are grouped together to play as a power point slideshow if you choose to review them each day during class rules time).
The editable name cards come two ways: with a spot to insert a photo, then type the student name, and a card for just the name. Students should move to the cards without photos after they recognize their name in print.
I recommend filing each rule in a folder for each student. Then staple the name/rules page activities to take home for reading practice.
This station is easily set up!Just place capital and lowercase letter stamps, name cards, scissors, glue and activity pages in baskets and let the fun begin! I use this type of activity during guided groups and stations in my own classroom,
Repetitive manipulation of letters followed by signing the name to agree to the rule covers more than one function.
