This set of 36 quilt squares is a great follow-up to so many precious moments during the school year. It makes a beautiful display on a bulletin board or in the hall! I have used these quilts to welcome parents to Curriculum night and Open House and to give a preview of things to come to incoming students in the fall.
I have found that starting with a small professional graphic encourages students with motor skill challenges and who don’t enjoy drawing to give this activity a try. I’ve had great results with these squares from a wide range of students because it’s so cute to start with. It’s easy to add your own embellishments slowly until there is a finished product to be proud of! I have included 30 graphic squares along with 6 blank squares for students who are more artistically inclined and would like to make the square a complete original.
Another use for these squares is for each student to make a simple scrapbook or memory book. Just save their pages in a folder, and hole punch and tie with a ribbon at the end of the year!
Common Core linked lesson plan included.
