I used this as a culminating activity at the end of the year.
Students signed up for a letter (I didn't allow duplicates) then found a vocabulary word (had to be from our topics this year) with the same letter.
They defined the word and illustrated it on a white piece of construction paper. (I used a tile size - 5x5, but you can use any size you like.)
I will use their examples on my word wall next year.
This activity was fast and easy with very little setup or cleanup.
1. Draw the outline on the board
2. Write the alphabet on the board so students can sign up for a letter
3. Hand out paper
4. Have colored pencils/crayons/markers on their table
5. Allow students to use their books and/or notebooks
The entire activity lasted about 30 minutes for 1 word each.
**You can offer incentives for hard to find letters.
