In this quarterly project, students are instructed to find a science article from a newspaper or magazine and write a summary about it to create a visual poster or display. I do not allow my students to use an article found online because many students have a difficult time finding a reliable source. Instead, I allow them to photocopy articles from magazines found at the library. Students are exposed to new branches of science and keep up to date with what is going on in the science field. Also a great cross-cutting curriculum project!
