These are my Science Choice Boards. There are 6 choice boards with 9 different activities on each. Each choice board allows you or the student to choose how many activities have to be completed for differentiation. Topics covered include 3rd, 4th and 5th grade TEKS.
The six choice board topics are:
Space: sun, moon, earth, rotation, revolution, moon phases, tides
Cycles: food chain, water cycle, carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle, sedimentary rocks, metamorphosis
Matter: properties of matter, solutions, changes by heat, melting/freezing point
Energy: light, sound, thermal, electrical, mechanical. force
Earth and it’s Resources: weathering, erosion, deposition, slow and rapid changes to land, soil, fossil fuels, alternative resources, natural resources
Environment: adaptations, living and non-living, plant life cycle, photosynthesis, inherited traits and learned behaviors, changes to environments
I like to let them fold a large piece of manila construction paper into fourths and let them chose 4 activities. I also like giving each student in a group a different choice board, then they have to teach their completed choices to the others in their groups. As my students complete these this year, I will add pictures of their work.
