Encourage student participation!
Science participation posters for any age!
We all need ways to encourage our students to actively participate in class – and to learn what active participation looks like. Active participation can be more than just answering teacher’s questions. This fun science-themed poster set gives students examples of other ways to participate in class.
Posters (several configurations to hang them depending on your available wall space - you can use the middle poster and hang them all together or hang the 4 participation posters around your room without the middle poster). You can print these out in any size.
Participation Goal Cards - give students a goal to try a new method of participation each day
Student Self Assessment and Goals worksheet - give students the challenge to keep track of their participation throughout the week and try new methods of participation.
After students have been intentional about trying out some of these participation strategies, it should become second nature, and you will have a classroom that is filled with active learning, questioning, and on-topic discussions!
The posters can be printed out in any size depending on your space available. When you print them, for best quality, click “shrink to fit” in the printing options. I have printed them out on large poster A3 paper and letter-sized paper, and they all look great in the classroom.
