Product Description
This lab set includes lab instructions for students, a teacher instruction page (including how I divide this lesson up over several days), a pre-lab worksheet, a post-lab analysis worksheet, and appropriate diagrams for lab recording and results.

This is lesson is designed to utilize project based-learning (PBL) techniques. The students are engaged as they are guided to decide how to test their hypothesis using the information and supplies given. This is a great lab for seeing real-life ecology principals and how they relate to real life events... in this case, how would pesticides affect the local ecosystem. This lab includes working outside during a class period or at home on the students' own time.

This lab would be great for any class discussing ecosystems, such as biology, a general science course, earth science, and AP Biology (or other college level intro to biology). Recommended for grades 9-12 or homeschool equivalent. Could be slightly modified for upper middle school if needed.

Keywords: ecology, science lab, spider lab, spider niche, earth science, AP Biology
