This is a hands-on, inquiry based science lab testing for the presence of mono, di and polysaccharides.
Using the scientific method, students will follow the methods listed in the lab outline to use the Benedict's Test and the Iodine Test to observe and record the presence (or absence) of specific starch molecules.
There is a material list to assist the teacher in the preparation for the lab, an observation chart and comprehension questions for the students to demonstrate their understanding.
