Included in this product are two types of presentations: instructions and rubric for a PowerPoint presentation, and instructions and rubric for a shorter oral presentation.
PowerPoint presentation: I used this presentation as part of the students' assessment of their science fair project. Students worked on laptops to create a PowerPoint presentation to present to the class about their science fair projects. This presentation is great for teachers who can devote a bigger chunk of class time, as it does take the students longer to prepare and longer to present. However, I found this experience to be valuable for the students, because it encompasses technology skills, oral presentation skills, and gives the teacher insight into how well the student understands his/her own science fair project.
Oral presentation: Although I think the PowerPoint presentation gives a much deeper overall learning experience for the students, there have been years that I just couldn't squeeze it into my curriculum. However, I still wanted the students to at least do a quick presentation of their project. That's what this part of the product was created for. The oral presentation follows a similar format as the PowerPoint presentation, but is meant to use less prep time for the students, and shorter presentation times.
