This activity uses models of dinosaurs and real chicken wings to calculate the mass of an actual dinosaur by finding the density of chicken wings! Many skills are used during this activity including using a balance, finding volume and using overflow cans. Simple math calculations are also necessary! Students will follow the lab sheet and enter their results as they work independently with the teacher as the facilitator.
Depending on the variety of dinosaurs you have...every student will come up with a different answer!
If you use this activity... please let me know how it went. I'd love to hear your feedback!
