Light Up the World is a collection of activities to support Next Generation Science Standards 1-PS4-3 and 1-PS4-4.
The first two activities and student journal pages look at the types of different materials (such as translucent and opaque) and the way that they let light shine through. Since some materials are reflective, there is a fun activity to practice reflecting light and directing where they light goes.
The last activity, student background story slides, and student journal page look at ways that light can be used to solve the problem of communicating over great distances.
This activity kit includes three activities, detailed teacher instructions, vocabulary support and student pages that can either be used in an interactive journal or as foldables.
